I recall an elder COVID lady for which anticoagulation was started, then a hematoma appeared in the popliteal fossa & calf muscle area from a previously undiagnosed muscle tear (diagnosed by ultrasound).
Perhaps heparin or clexane is safer and easier to revert its effect in the elderly.
